Maurice LaMarche (born March 30, 1958) is a Canadian voice actor and former stand-up comedian. His voice is best known as popular Disney characters, such as Mortimer Mouse and Horace Badun. He also voiced characters in Wreck-It Ralph, Gravity Falls, Kung Fu Panda Legends of Awesomeness, and Ultimate Spider-Man. He voiced King Agnarr in Disney’s animated feature, Frozen.

Early life

LaMarche was born on March 30, 1958 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. However, his childhood was spent at Timmins, Ontario because his family moved there soon after his birth. His childhood was filled with cartoons and sixties television. His talent for mimicry was not popular until his sophomore year in high school. His mimicry was discovered by the audience in his high school’s variety night. He mimicked “celebrities as waiters”.

Voiceover

LaMarche first entered the voiceover industry in the Canadian films Easter Fever and Take Me Up to the Ball Game in 1980. After this, he did not continue voice acting until 1985, after his full-time stand-up career.

Television

LaMarche's first television role is Chief Quimby in Inspector Gadget in 1985. He only voiced the chief in the second season. He went on to Dennis the Menace, Popeye and Son and The Real Ghostbusters. After The Real Ghostbusters, LaMarche became a regular mainstay of the voiceover industry appearing in such shows as Tiny Toon Adventures, GI Joe, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: The Animated Series, and Taz-Mania. He also worked on Where's Waldo, The Little Mermaid, Batman: The Animated Series, and Bonkers before landing perhaps his most recognized role.

In 1993, LaMarche's landed his most recognized role, The Brain, on Animaniacs (and later its spin-off show Pinky and the Brain).

Film

LaMarche appeared in many films, such as Ed Wood, Space Jam, and Team America: World Police.

In 2013, he voiced Agnarr in Disney's animated feature, Frozen.
